Korean Tourist Stabbed On Way to Walking Street With Friends.…

From Pattaya One News is the story of a Thai that stabbed a Korean tourist in the hand in an attempt to steal his bag as he and his friends were heading to Walking Street Wednesday night. The thief approached the Korean tourists with a knife demanding the Koreans bag. The Korean refused and a fight broke out causing the Korean to be stabbed.

Fortunately police were nearby and were able to arrest the thief. The would be thief blamed the recent Pattaya ferry accident for his crime as the parasailing company he worked for had temporarily stopped work and he needed milk for his 4 month old child.

Commentary: I don’t know what the options are in Pattaya for poor Thai families but with all the tourist money that gets spent there should be enough Baht to make sure families can get milk for their babies without having to resort to crime. That’s assuming the story is true and he’s not really a drug addict that needed a fix.
