Nana Plaza = Good, Soi Cowboy = Ghost Town, Patpong = Good.

The word from my friends in Nana Plaza is that the gogo bars have cold beer and plenty of hot gogo girls for naughty boys with wallets full of Baht to spend. The protesters are not affecting Nana Plaza or the Soi 4 bars. The bars of Patpong are also largely unaffected. However, with Soi Cowboy next to Asok it’s a ghost town. Bars are open but there dozens of girls apparently missing from action on those stages and thus few guys willing to sit around buying beers.

If your hotel is in that golden zone between Soi 1 and Soi 19 on Sukhumvit then you’re in great shape to visit Nana Plaza although be prepared to walk more. With the intersections at Asok and Siam being blocked it’s a nightmare for taxi drivers.

Now if your hotel is past Asoke on Sukhumvit then you’re screwed. You can hop on the BTS at Phrom Phong and take it to the Nana stop. But if you find a bar girl to keep you company your best bet is a short time room in or around Nana Plaza. If you want to go back to your hotel get the BTS by 11:30 p.m. as it stops running at midnight.

Your other option is once at Nana Plaza find a short time hotel and book the room for the night. You can easily walk to Club Insanity on Soi 12 or Bash or Levels on Soi 11.

If you’re staying past Asoke and take your girl for the night you can hit the bars on Soi 33 including the after hours Club Velvet or Scratch Dog on Soi 20.

You might even want to consider that mini membership the Pimp Club offers.

Even though the gogo bars in Patpong are open getting there might be a bitch. Usually the easiest way would be to grab the MRT at Asoke (where the protesters are) or the BTS down to the Siam Interchange (also where the protesters are) and because Asoke is blocked getting a taxi to Patpong might be an adventure in patience that you might want to go without.

It all comes down to where your hotel is situated in Bangkok as to how much of a headache you’ll have getting around the entertainment zones. Be careful! Stay safe!
