Swedish Woman Partially Paralyzed in Phuket Boat Accident..

From the Phuket Gazette is the story of a Swedish woman on her honeymoon with her husband. They decided to take a speed boat to Phi Phi Island. The waters were so choppy that no other boats were leaving but her boat operator insisted to go. (Perhaps he didn’t want to give up the fare for the 24 other passengers). As the boat tried to make it through large waves the woman was tossed to the deck so hard that she damaged her spine and was partially paralyzed. Incredibly the boat operator at first refused to turn the boat around despite the tourist screaming in pain. Only after the tourist showed the boat captain that she had been partially paralyzed unable to move her feet that he turned the boat back to Phuket.

Commentary: Once again a tour boat operator with a total disregard for the safety of his passengers and just another reason why you won’t see me on a tour boat.
