Vendor Makes Off With Chinese Tourists Phone..

From Pattaya One News is the story of a 31 year old Chinese tourist on holiday in Pattaya. She had stopped to buy some food from a Burmese pancake vendor and then a short time later discovered that her cell phone was missing. She wasn’t sure if the vendor had actually stolen her phone or if she had just left without realizing it was on the cart.

She reported the missing phone to police who soon tracked down the pancake vendor. He told police that he was a well respected vendor in Pattaya and that he would never steal a customers phone. Police checked with local residents and business operators and none of them had seen the so called well respected pancake vendor before. A search of the food cart uncovered the phone on a hidden shelf. The vendor was found to have entered Thailand illegally and will be deported at the earliest opportunity.

Commentary: Perhaps the Burmese vendor just wanted to phone home…. Lesson learned? Never put your expensive smart phone on a food cart or bar counter. They tend to walk off so quickly!
