Pattaya Beach Food Cart Scandal. Prices Doubled…

From Pattaya One News is the story of Pattaya government and army personnel doing spot checks on food fart vendors on Pattaya Beach. Why? Because of the scandalous overcharging of food that’s being complained about on Social Media. Vendors charge 20 Baht for sticky rice that costs 10 Baht in a Tha restaurant and 200 Baht for Fried Pork which would cost 100 Baht or less in a Thai restaurant just meters away. No laws were found to be broken and the food vendors justify the 100% markup because they actually don’t cook the food. Nope. The order it from the nearby restaurants and then double the price.

Commentary: From my experience of getting food from vendors on Pattaya Beach they ought to pay the customers to eat that shit. It’s the god damned worse thing I’ve ever eaten in Thailand. The food in the restaurants on Pattaya Beach road is so bad that it makes the McDonalds fish filet sandwich seem like gourmet food! I wish an expat would create a decent map of good open air Thai places to eat that are easy and quick to find between Soi 6 and Walking Street! Any volunteers? You make a decent map and I’ll post it on both Facebook pages and my Bangkok After Hours blog! A Thai place where I don't have to pay 165 Baht for what they try to pass off as Pad Thai on Pattaya Beach Road!
