50,000 Baht Reward for Gems Left on Pattaya Boat.

From Pattaya One News we have an Iranian tourist that’s also apparently a gem dealer. He brought many valuable gems from Iran to have them mounted into jewelry in Thailand. Not trusting the valuable gems to those beer can thin room safes the Iranian tourist kept the gems with him at all times.

All was good until he took a pleasure boat to Larn Island. On the return to Bali Hai pier Pattaya he discovered that he had left the valuable gems on the boat. All attempts to contact the boat owner by the port failed and they have been unable to locate the boat or owner. As a result the Iranian has offered a 50,000 Baht reward for the safe return of the gems which apparently are worth much, much more.

Commentary: Rumor has it that a boat matching the description was seen speeding off into the sunset with the boat captain laughing so loud that he could be heard over the roar of the boat engine. I’m sure the boat captain is also happy to hear that the gems are worth far more than the 50,000 Baht reward. Now he knows how much to ask for them. Congratulations to the Iranian for being this week’s poster boy for: “Don’t let this happen to you!”
