Indian Tourist Assaulted on Pattaya Beach by 5 Thai's.

From Pattaya One News we have the story of a 50 year old Indian tourist that was seen staggering along Pattaya Beach in the early hours Thursday as if he was drunk. Being an easy target he was quickly assaulted and robbed by a gang of youths who are known by police to target intoxicated foreigners in the area. The attack happened on the Pattaya Beach promenade only meters away from the Pattaya Police station.

A Thai witness told police she was walking behind the Indian tourist who appeared heavily intoxicated and moments later a group of 5 Thai men approached the tourist and used pieces of wood to beat him over the head. The tourist fell to the ground and the gang proceeded to steal 50,000 Baht and $2,500 U.S. dollars from his trouser pockets. Hmmmmmmm..

Police think they know who assaulted the tourist and that the members are part of a well-known gang called “Deen Dor” who assault and rob tourists on Pattaya Beach.

Commentary: Wait! An Indian tourist stumbling drunk down Pattaya Beach with 50,000 Baht and $2,500 U.S. dollars in his pockets? Bullshit! If that’s true then this tourist wins hands down the award for being the poster boy for “Don’t let this happen to you!” But what also bothers me is that Police are well aware of this gang? So where are the Orange Shirts that are supposed to be patrolling Pattaya Beach? And since this happened practically on the doorstep of the Pattaya Police station where were the cops? Was everybody at Starbucks having coffee and donuts?
