British Tourist Almost Loses 200,000 Baht to Ladyboy Pickpocket in Pattaya

Pattaya One News reports that at 9pm on 24th of April, 35 year old British tourist was with his girlfriend on a son taew taxi, on their way to Thepprasit Market, South Pattaya, when a ladyboy tried to steal money from his pocket.

The Brit reported that while he was getting off at his destination, he noticed some money had fallen out of his pocket onto the ground. He checked his pockets and found that he had lost all of his money. As he looked around, he noticed that the rest of his money was underneath the legs of a ladyboy as he was sitting on some of it.

The ladyboy realized the discovery, jumped out of the song taew taxi, and tried to get on a motorcycle that appeared to be waiting for him. The quick thinking tourist chased the ladyboy down and caught him but the friend waiting on the motorcycle got away.
The amount of money that could have been lost was 3000 pounds, that’s about 200,000 (153,542 ed) baht in Thai money.

Commentary: WTF! What kind of idiot carries around the equivalent of 200,000 Baht in foreign cash in his pants pocket walking around Pattaya! Now that this tourists picture has been in Pattaya One everyone in Pattaya knows he walks around with a pocket full of cash. He might as well paint a bulls-eye on the back of his shirt because now he’ll be the target of every thief in Thailand!
