8 Russians Injured in Pattaya Minibus Accident...

Pattaya One News reports that at 11pm on the evening of Tuesday May 24 a minibus carrying eight Russian tourists crashed, whilst heading into Pattaya on Route 36, outside the Bira Racing Circuit. Sawangboriboon Rescue Workers were quickly on the scene and discovered a bronze Toyota minibus, to the Pradub Tour Company, a previously unknown tour company, had overturned into a ditch. Medics attended to the injuries of eight passengers, five men and three women, who were not seriously hurt but were suffering from shock. One of the survivors made a statement confirming the minibus had left Koh Chang and was heading towards Pattaya when it began to shake and then overturned on the highway before crashing into the ditch.
The bus driver ran away from the scene and other local people rescued the injured and called for medical services.

Commentary: Let's see what we have here. Another Thai tour bus crash. The driver instead of helping the injured passengers takes off running for the hills. It's just speculation on my part but this leads me to believe that the driver was perhaps under the influence of drugs, alcohol and perhaps even unlicensed. No wonder the driver headed for the hills! He's probably half way to Bangkok by now!
